The Utah Jazz have been unwilling to make any trades over the last few seasons, even as they have struggled to climb out of the bottom of the Western Conference.
The team is currently the 14th seed in the West and has little chance of reaching the playoffs this year.
Because of that, people thought they’d finally commit to some changes at the trade deadline.
They might, but one player will remain in Utah.
According to Evan Sidery, Walker Kessler will not be available on the trade market.
On Tuesday morning, Sidery wrote:
“The Jazz view Kessler as a key young piece for their future.”
The Jazz star is posting 10.9 points, 11.1 rebounds, and 3.0 blocks per game.
One name who will not be available on the trade market after league-wide exploratory interest: Walker Kessler.

This is Kessler’s third season with the Jazz, and it’s been his best yet.
But that didn’t guarantee he would remain with the team.
In fact, some people felt his spectacular season meant Kessler would be leaving Utah because he would be more attractive on the trade market.
The Jazz have been very hesitant to do anything beyond acquiring draft picks and young players who they can trade away in the future.
But the future hasn’t come yet, and Kessler will still be in Jazz for the time being.
Still, that doesn’t mean the Jazz won’t hear offers for other players.
When they do, they likely won’t move quickly because they have become notorious for being difficult during trade talks and unwilling to budge on their demands.
Kessler isn’t leaving, but other players might.
However, they won’t be leaving without other teams offering a lot in return.
