If the average NBA fan were asked about who they thought the last undefeated team in the league was going to be, the Cleveland Cavaliers might not have been on the top of their list.
The Cavaliers have been among the best teams in the Eastern Conference in recent seasons, but they haven’t been able to break through since the LeBron James era.
For one reason or another, this team hasn’t had the firepower to keep up with the likes of the Boston Celtics, Miami Heat, or Milwaukee Bucks.
It’s still early in the season, but the Cavaliers have already shown that they’re not messing around this season and that they’re prepared to put up a hard fight against anyone who gets in their way.
This was put on full display in their most recent win over the Bucks, a back-and-forth game that ended up in their favor.
One of the biggest reasons for this victory was Darius Garland’s big night.
As NBA Central pointed out on X, Garland had 39 points, which included seven makes from beyond the arc, also adding eight assists.

The Cavaliers might not have presented as the team to beat heading into the year, but if Garland keeps playing like this, other teams in the East will have to respect them more.
Garland’s big night didn’t go unnoticed on social media, receiving praise from many fans.
What a turnaround from the playoffs

If this version of Darius Garland shows up in the Playoffs, the Cavs have a great chance of making a deep run in the Playoffs.

As these fans mention, if Garland and the Cavaliers keep this up, they’ll be a tough team to stop in the postseason.
