India Women took on Ireland Women in the third ODI at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot on January 15. The hosts won the toss and opted to bat first. Openers Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal took India’s innings to a flier. The together scored 90 runs in the powerplay and accelerated right after that. They put up a 233-run stand for the first wicket before Mandhana departed, scoring a staggering 135 runs.
Behind the rise of the run rate and total of India, one major aspect was Ireland’s mis-fielding and dropped chances. Pratika took the mantle and continued fetching runs for the team along with Richa Ghosh. Ghosh walked back scoring 59 off 42, meanwhile Pratika brought her maiden international century.

Pratika concluded her innings scoring 154 off just 129 deliveries, laced with 20 boundaries and one maximum. Tejal Hasabnis and Harleen Deol played a small cameo of 28 and 15 runs and India posted their highest total and fourth-highest total in ODIs, 435/5.
Ireland batting crumbles under pressure
While chasing, Ireland were in all chaos. The batters struggled to get going, and Indian bowlers were all over them. Only Sarah Forbes (41) and Orla Prendergast (36) scored nominal runs, and no other batter even crossed the 20-run mark. Ireland’s innings concluded on 131 within just 31.4 and India clean swept the series, 3-0.
They won the game by a whopping margin of 304 runs, and this was the highest ever win margin in Women’s ODIs. For India, Deepti Sharma dazzled with three wickets and Tanuja Kanwar claimed two wickets. Speaking of other bowlers, Titas Sidhu, Sayali Satghare and Minnu Mani claimed one wicket each. With her ton, Mandhana also scored the fasted century by an Indian in ODIs.
